Network, POS & Security Camera Installation for Colorado Springs Restaurants

When your POS goes down on a Friday night, you're not losing connectivity — you're losing revenue. We make sure that doesn't happen.

Restaurant bar and dining area in Colorado Springs

It's 7pm on a Saturday. Your dining room is full. A server gets the spinning wheel on the POS tablet. The kitchen display freezes. Your guest WiFi is running on the same network as your credit card terminals — and something just knocked it all offline.

Most restaurant networks were installed by whoever set up the internet connection. One router, one password, everything on the same network. It works fine until it doesn't — and when it doesn't, the timing is always the worst possible moment.

Alpine IT builds restaurant networks the way commercial kitchens are designed: segregated, redundant, and built for the specific load your operation puts on it.

The POS Isolation Problem

Payment card industry (PCI) compliance requires that your POS and credit card processing be isolated from guest-accessible networks. Most small restaurants aren't compliant — not because they chose not to be, but because their network was never designed with that in mind. We fix this in the initial setup.

What We Install for Restaurants
  • POS-Isolated Network Architecture — Your POS terminals, credit card readers, and kitchen display systems run on a dedicated VLAN — completely isolated from guest WiFi, staff devices, and any other connected hardware. Meets PCI DSS segmentation requirements. When a guest's phone hammers your guest network, your transactions keep processing.
  • Guest WiFi — A branded guest network with bandwidth controls so one streaming customer doesn't kill everyone else's connection. Splash page optional. Completely separate from your operational network.
  • 5G Automatic Failover — Your ISP will go down. A 5G failover router switches automatically — no intervention, no reboot, no staff involvement. Your POS stays online, your kitchen display keeps running, and your guests stay connected. Most outages resolve before your customers notice.
  • Interior & Exterior Security Cameras — Bar, dining room, kitchen pass, walk-in, back door, parking lot — coverage designed for your specific floor plan. Local storage, no monthly fees, remote access from your phone. Footage for staff incidents, theft, dine-and-dash disputes, and insurance claims.
  • Staff & Back-of-House Access Control — Keycard or PIN access for walk-in coolers, liquor storage, office, and back entrance. Full access log so you know exactly who entered restricted areas and when. No more shared keys.
  • Structured Cabling — Clean cable runs for POS terminals, kitchen displays, and cameras — concealed, labeled, and professionally terminated. No zip-tied cables running across baseboards.

Common Questions
Will you work around our existing POS system?
Yes. We build the network around your POS, not the other way around. Toast, Square, Clover, Aloha, Lightspeed — we've worked with all of them. We need to know your system before the install so we configure the right VLAN and firewall rules.
Do you work during off-hours to avoid disrupting service?
Yes. We schedule installs during your closed hours — early morning, late night, or during a scheduled closure. Most single-location restaurant installs complete in one session.
What if we're in a leased space with shared internet from the landlord?
Common situation. We work with what's coming into the building and build proper segmentation from your side of the demarcation point. If the landlord's connection is the problem, we'll tell you that directly and can add a 5G backup or independent ISP connection depending on your situation.
