Alternative Connectivity

Internet Where
Your ISP Won't Go.

Cable and fiber don't reach every property in Colorado. Construction trailers, remote job sites, rural ranches, and properties outside town limits often have no good option — until Starlink. Alpine IT installs and professionally integrates Starlink satellite internet, including mounting, cable management, and optional 5G failover pairing.

Who It's For

When Cable and Fiber Aren't an Option

Starlink isn't for everyone — but for the right locations, it's the best connectivity option available. Alpine IT serves all of El Paso County, Teller County, and the surrounding rural areas where wired internet options are limited or nonexistent.

Rural & Agricultural Properties

Ranches, farms, and rural properties outside service area boundaries have been stuck with slow DSL or fixed wireless options for years. Starlink delivers 100–500 Mbps to locations that previously had no path to reliable broadband.

Construction Trailers & Temp Sites

Temporary job sites need internet for cameras, project management software, and crew communication. Starlink is portable, self-contained, and doesn't require a service address or long-term contract. Take it with you when the job's done.

Business Continuity & Failover

Even in served areas, Starlink works as an independent backup path. Because it's satellite-based, it operates on a completely separate infrastructure from your cable or fiber provider — so if your primary ISP goes down, Starlink stays up.

What You Get

Professional Installation, Not Just a Box Drop

Starlink hardware is easy to plug in. A professional installation is something different — the dish is mounted correctly, the cable is run cleanly, and the system is integrated into your network the right way.

Obstruction Assessment

Starlink requires a clear view of the northern sky. Alpine IT identifies the optimal mounting location before installation — roof, pole, or wall mount — to maximize signal and minimize obstruction dropouts.

Professional Mounting

The dish is mounted securely with proper weatherproofing on cable entry points. No temporary setups, no zip ties, no dish sitting on the ground. Mounted to last — rooftop, chimney, pole, or wall depending on your property.

Clean Cable Run

Cable is routed cleanly from the dish to your equipment room or network closet — concealed where possible, properly secured where it can't be hidden. No cable draped over gutters or stapled to siding.

Network Integration

Starlink is integrated into your existing network — whether that's a UniFi router in bypass mode, a standalone setup, or a dual-WAN configuration with automatic failover. Configured correctly from the start.

5G Failover Pairing

Pair Starlink with a 5G/LTE router for true dual-WAN redundancy. Starlink goes down? 5G takes over automatically. 5G goes down? Starlink is still running. Two completely independent internet paths — both online simultaneously.

Documentation & Handoff

Every Alpine IT installation is documented — network diagram, configuration notes, account login locations. You'll know exactly how your system is set up and how to manage it after we leave.

Note on hardware: Starlink equipment (dish and router) is purchased directly from Starlink at starlink.com. Alpine IT provides the professional installation and network integration service. We can advise on which kit is right for your use case before you order.

Connectivity Strategy

Starlink + 5G: Two Independent Paths

For locations where internet reliability is critical, Alpine IT can configure Starlink and 5G/LTE as a dual-WAN pair. Each connection runs on independent infrastructure — satellite and cellular — so an outage on one doesn't affect the other.

Primary + Failover

Configure Starlink as your primary connection and 5G as automatic failover. When Starlink is healthy, all traffic flows through it. If it drops, the 5G router takes over within seconds — no manual intervention, no downtime your staff will notice.

Best for locations where Starlink is reliable most of the time but you need a backup for the occasional satellite outage.

Load Balancing

Run both connections simultaneously and distribute traffic across them. Cameras use one path, staff internet uses the other. More complex to configure, but it maximizes available bandwidth and provides redundancy without any failover delay.

Best for higher-bandwidth applications or locations where both connections are equally reliable.

Common Questions

Starlink Installation FAQ

What does a Starlink installation from Alpine IT include?
Alpine IT handles mounting the dish in an optimal location with clear sky view, running the cable cleanly to your network equipment, and integrating Starlink into your existing network — whether that's a UniFi router, a standalone setup, or a dual-WAN failover configuration.
Can Starlink be paired with a 5G backup?
Yes. Alpine IT can configure Starlink as your primary connection and a 5G/LTE router as automatic failover — or vice versa. This gives you two independent paths to the internet, so if either one goes down, you stay online without any manual intervention.
Do I need to purchase the Starlink hardware myself?
Yes. Starlink hardware is purchased directly from Starlink at starlink.com. Alpine IT provides the installation and network integration service. We can advise on which Starlink kit is right for your use case before you order.
How fast is Starlink for business use?
Starlink Business typically delivers 100–500 Mbps download speeds with low latency. Performance varies based on location, obstructions, and network load. For rural Colorado locations where fiber and cable aren't available, Starlink typically outperforms DSL and fixed wireless alternatives by a significant margin.
Does Starlink work well in Colorado weather?
Generally yes. Starlink dishes have a built-in heater to melt snow accumulation. Heavy precipitation can cause brief signal interruptions, which is one reason Alpine IT recommends pairing Starlink with a 5G backup for business-critical applications. For most residential and light commercial use, Starlink performs reliably through typical Colorado weather.
